1986 XV700 Factory Jets stock all the way bike
1986 XV700 Factory Jets stock all the way bike
Hey, fixing to take carbs off.
So question, I have heard unfortunately too late that these carbs are jetted slightly differently.
So my question is what should the jet size be on front cylinder.
And what size on rear.
Note: when I took old ones out they were unreadable and I had no jet sizing tool. So just used a 132 jet in both. I have backfire on decelerating. Also hesitation on acceleration sometimes. The K&L kit came with (2) 132jets and (2) 128 jets
So which jet for front and which first rear . Thank you E.

Check your repair manual for your 1986 XV700 to confirm the following:
Front Cylinder gets the 128 leaner jet.
Rear cylinder get the 132 richer jet.
If you don't have a manual go here to download a copy:

Just finished re jetting and I'm happy. 134 rear and 128 front.
No backfiring now! Just need to check the synchronization. Friend is bringing a guage to work tomorrow. Thank you again for the link and the advice.

Eric,
Yes, the Rear cylinder is Number One, for valve adjustments etc. and gets the larger 134 jet.
Glad to hear that that fixed your backfiring issue.

thanks man.
Just synced the carbs . They were close @4500 . It has been rainy here so no test ride. But the way it sounds I am eager to go for a scoot.
Thanks again for all your information. Eric
