But it's just bolted to the frame about where the rectifier should be.
Not the correct Reg/Rec, however, if it works, why not. Plus, it's plug and play and no special wiring. Can you attach a picture on where it sits currently with the SR185 unit. Just curious. Plus, I'll learn something.

This is the only picture I have of it fitted to my bike.

Hard to tell much from the picture, but it's fitted under the bike left of rear wheel (where the rectifier should be) and is bolted by one bolt to the frame (where the rectifier cover would normally bolt to), but instead of being side-on (as would be normal), it's on a small L-shaped bracket so it faces like the numberplate faces (if that makes sense). ie: the side shown is facing towards the rear of the bike.
