I found this wind shield for my xv750. It comes with mounting hard ware and all.

What do you guys thinks about it? Only around $60 including shipping. I can actually afford this one and it looks OK. I am going to go outside and take a tape measure to kinda get what it’ll fit like.
Give me them opinions!!

It seems odd that it doesn't have a cutout portion to settle over the head light. Too bad the only mounted picture was on a quad instead of a motorcycle. The basic shape is the same as mine as far as the hand protection. Be aware that if your bike ever falls over for any reason you will most likely crack the shield or gouge it up pretty bad around the handgrip side that meets the pavement. I'm speaking from experience. My Vgo fell off the side stand twice since I've owned it. One time I was several steps away went it went down. Came to realize the stopper portion of the side stand was holding the stand much too vertical for my liking. I took a die grinder and releaved about a 1/16 of an inch of material from the stopper tab on the frame. The stand position is now perfect.

Measuring my handlebars from end ot end is only 29 1/2". So this would be 3" wider on each side. Much too wide . I figured maybe I could cut the headlight part out. I guess I need to look for a different one this one just wont cut it. It says its for a Virago but I dont think it is. More a quad shield like you said.

How about his one? It is 28" and my bar spread is 29 1\2". This should work well don’t you think?
Thanks for the help.

It says it is 2.5mm thick and that is way thinner than the shield I have on my bike. I can't give you a measurement on mine right now because I am out of town but maybe someone else can give you a comparison on the thickness. I'm thinking mine is twice that.

i didn’t even notice that part. I was paying attention to the width and height. If it is possibly half as thin that sounds dangerous. Maybe I should just wait and try to save up for an actual slipstream shield. I get in a hurry too often.

<"It says it is 2.5mm thick and that is way thinner than the shield I have on my bike.">

I just measured my windshield for thickness.

7mm's approximately that is 5/16ths of an inch approximately. Way thicker than 2.5mm's

That is nuts. How can they even sell a windshield with it being so thin. Anyhow.. I will just save up for a good slipstream like the hellfire. Hopefully I will be able to buy myself one before fall comes. We shall see. Thanks for the input guys. Also... if any of you come up with a used shield for cheap please let me know as I would be very interested.

Rob,
That windshield is more of a fly shield. It is very short. Roughly 12" from the head light curve to the top of the shield.

Mine measures 23 3/8" from the head light curve to the top of the windshield. That maybe why the shield was so thin. There wouldn't be as much pressure exerted on it that a full size windshield would get. Some manufacturers will also state a speed limit that the windshield can sustain safely.
