Replace that PITA right-side seat screw

Several times in the past when I was starting to remove the seat, the short original screw on the right-hand side came off the Allen wrench, dropped down somewhere into the bowels of the bike and was hard to recover. I got a 5mm x 45mm hex-head shoulder bolt, Loctited a nut at the shoulder, slipped on a lock washer and have used it ever since. Once loosened, the extra length makes it easy to remove without the risk of dropping it.

I just dealt with that PITA screw yesterday and had to fish it out with the magnet stick. I will make this change ASAP.
Thanks!

Hey Dave (aldo5468),
Great minds think alike. I did that too! Now, I remember how I thought of it. You told me about this little trick over a year ago. LOL

Wouldn't have to be a shoulder bolt - using a jam nut on a full-length threaded one would accomplish the same thing.

My seat mount is different I guess. Mine is a bar that run across underneath the seat and work on each end like a lever. It is so damn hard to get it to come off. Most the time I have to lay on the ground with a screwdriver with someone else trying to lif off the seat. Now that is a PIA! LOL!
