John,
It all comes down to the type of Saddlebags and look you want. Do you want throw overs, bolt ons, straight up and down or slant cut. Once you determine the look you want then start measuring. The above schematic is just a generic guide to assist in your choice of Saddlebags.

Here are a few choices to consider:

Also, don't forget to consider saddle bag brackets to stop them from swinging in against the read tire and wheel. Below link is for a generic bracket. There are several other styles on the internet. You just have to search for them.

Hi Joe,
Wondering if you or other members can suggest suppliers in Australia for Saddlebags, supports and alike for my 97 XV 1100.
I bought supports on line previously from OS, only to find they didn't fit.
The bikes still fairly original and in good condition so didn't want to start drilling unnecessary holes in her.
Also there is a lot of conflicting information when researching for the correct fitting support style, so any assistance will be much appreciated.
Cheers KC

Sorry KC, no sources down under.

You may want to contact BeeJay, who also lives in OZ. He may know of a source there.
Go to members list and find BeeJay, send him a private message from there.
