Thanks to all who have helped! We have until end of March to pay for the server. As of right now we are only about $160 short. So we are very close. I'm sorry I can't cover it but my personal situation is bad bad. Ride safe if it's warm enough out where you are because it has been freezing here in Michigan. Take care of yourself and yours.

1997 virago 1100 cylinder head valve guide Issue (Missouri)
so in removing my bent valves on rear cylinder, i noticed that the intake valve guide look like it had broken off (previous owner)
I thought I had to buy another head but saw it as a part replacement, here:
https://www.motosport.com/oem-parts/yam ... inder-head
Part number 2 and number 3 is the "c" clip
attached are pics of the new part online.
now to find out how to install correctly....anyone have a good idea?
I will take a pic of the part on my cylinder head tonight so you can see what it looked like. I think there is a very small piece still left inside....

warhawk,
you are aware that you need a special tool to Compress the Valve spring to remove the Valve, Spring, Guide, and other components? This is a walk in the park for some. How well are you at walking. Is this your first rodeo or have you done this prior?

warhawk,
Make sure if you are going to reinsert the old Rocker shafts that they go back in the correct way that they came out.
This video will explain issues with the rocker shafts. Old p/n 4X7-12156-01-00 new superseded p/n is 4X7-12156-02-00.

Possibly a slide hammer with an extraction tip that will fit inside that broken valve guide or Do you have a friend with a machine shop?
There are also videos on you tube where guys have hammered them out and in. Tricky, but, possible.

Re: 1997 virago 1100 cylinder head valve guide Issue (Missouri)
Joe those vids helped allot thx.
Yes I have a machine shop (lathe and mill etc...)
I will make my own punch tool to remove the guide. I bought one already and new clip too.
Any preference to valve lapping compound?
