Let us know how things go. The 1100 wheel should bolt right on, but will require a brake change.

Re: What alternative wheels can fit [INFO.]
Hey all!
This is my first post! I just bought my first Virago, a 1992 XV535! Now personally I'm really into the look of cruiser bikes which have front wheels the same size as the rears with chonky tires on them. Think HD Sportster Forty Eight, Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber, the Yamaha XVS 1100 (later models), etc...
Now this thread has a wealth of information on mostly the rear wheels with some info on front wheels as well, but I didn't find a concrete line about the XVS 1100 front wheel being compatible / fitting on a Virago 535 front end... I have this thought on my mind ever since I have the bike, it would be really nice if someone could clear it up! I don't know much, if anything, about fitting different wheels on a motorcycle but common sense would tell me that a larger bike such as the XVS 1100 would probably have wider forks to accomodate a wider wheel and tire and if I have to take a guess I'd say it probably doesn't fit. But anyone here who can tell me for sure?
If not, any other (smaller diameter) spoked front wheel that you guys know of that would fit the 535?
Thanks so much!

I put the 17" rear hub with wire wheels on a XV1100. Easy piezy.

Putting wire spoked wheels is on my wish list of things I'd like to do to my 82 XV750. The powersportsdiscount.com website shows a 85 XV700 with a spoked rear wheel.
Has anyone seen one of these available?

Try ebay. I just took a quick dive into ebay. The rear wheel you are after is there.
Good luck.

XV535's have 15" rear spoke wheel
Where the '82 750 and '84 XV700 have 16" rear wheel.
'84 XV700 offered both Spoke and Alloy 16" rear wheels.

Thanks, I really appreciate the help.
If you look closely at the first one, it has a 15" tire.

jkraft,
Which bike are you addressing this question?
If you are talking about the XV535. Yup, that is what I am telling you. XV535's come with 15" Rear wheel and tire. The tire is also a different size than the other two bikes.

Now I'm finding conflicting information on line depending on sources the browser brings to the surface for these bikes.
I don't want to steer you wrong. I suggest you research this. I can't confirm nor deny what is correct. Sorry.

Re: What alternative wheels can fit [INFO.]
I thought the ebay links you sent were for 16" XV700 wheels, my bad.
I have an 82 XV750 with the swirl wheels and want to put spoked wheels on it.
I guess I'll get the 15" XV535 wheels and change the rim.
Thanks again.
