Have you ever noticed the Lurch you get when changing up through the gears.

It can be somewhat annoying when you just want to cruise without the Lurch or surge your Virago creates when going up through the gears.

If you want to dispense with the Lurch / Surge feeling.

Try this:
Go from 1st gear to 3rd gear and the Lurch / Surge feeling is greatly minimized if not gone completely.

Then go from 3rd gear to 5th gear (same affect as above).

If the need should arises that you need to move (accelerate) while in 3rd gear just wring the throttle and your Iron Maiden will respond accordingly and get you going without the need to down shift to 2nd gear! Besides, you may have already passed the threshold of 2nd gears top end.
