1998 XV1100 HELP DESPERATELY NEEDED.

Help needed - I have a 98 xv1100 that is suffering carb problems - I have had an engineer look at the carbs and it appears that fuel is leaking around the emulsion jet/tube - this is a press fit into the plastic "cage" in which the slides operate - if you look into the intake when the engine is running you can see fuel leaking around the emulsion jet/tube at the bottom of the carb mouth - any suggestions cos it's beginning to look like I may have to scrap the bike just because of this plastic piece. The needle sits inside the emulsion tube but fuel is not coming up the hole - it's leaking around the edge.

Rather than scraping the bike look for another set of Carbs.

I tried 1 carb set up, it sucked in the bad way . I bought a used set for 300. or so .had to use slow jets , float / needle valve for float . anyway I have the shells of my old carbs , no jets , valves , floats ect. 50. plus shipping if that helps. just need to clean bowls and put your inerds into.
