1995 XV1100 Choke Lever Replacement [SOLVED]

Post by jmindes » Mon Jan 13, 2020 12:14 am

I want to replace the left handlebar controls (and right side too) on my 1995 with a universal set. Problem is the manual choke lever connects to the OEM control. Any suggestions on what to do about the choke lever since the less expensive control sets do not have a choke. The one on my bike is similar to this.

I was thinking about getting a new plunger style lever and mounting it somewhere on the bike.

Thanks but that doesn’t solve my question. If I get a new left control, non OEM, where do I put the choke lever?

Since you are opting out and not staying with the OEM Left Handlebar switch assembly.

Then this is where your imagination and creativity comes into play.

I myself have not done any modification like this myself. I pretty much stay with the way the Virago was manufactured (less hassle) and it doesn't challenge my creativity.

However, modifications made by some bike owners are interesting, the action of improvising. How they can be creative and deviate from the way the bike was intended to look like and/or function. Some great ideas are generated. We here would be interested to see what you come up with in this Choke Function relocation modification endeavor. Sorry, I can't help you. Searching the internet may be fruitful with providing you with some alternatives and insight on doing what you want to do.
Good Luck.
