Welp the problem didnt go away with rebuilt carbs. Still getting a backfire and exhaust pop when giving bike 1/4 throttle. Bike runs great once the miss clears up at higher rpms. Im getting good spark. Plugs, wires, and caps are all new. Checked for intake leaks and didnt find anything. Thanks in advance for any help/direction :?

Quick update. Only electrical problem ive found is a bad regulator rectifier. When I disconnect regulator and fire bike up it will rev without back firing. Im making progress slowly by surely. I still have a slight miss on rear cylinder at idle but clears up under throttle. Any recommendations on where to purchase a regulator from?

Skrip,
Have you done a bench test on your Regulator / Rectifier?

Their all pretty much the same. Most if not all cheaper replacements come from China! Lucky us.

Unless you get O.E.M from Yamaha dealer or else were.

Usually, backfiring isn't due to Reg / Rec's.
More on the lines of Valve Adjustments and Synchronizing the carburetors afterwards along with new Spark Plugs. If I get a backfire once every 3 years, then I think it is someone else, Who is riding along side of me.
