☆This time I personally need your help....☆
This was a tough decision to decide on. I generally stay behind the scenes keeping this site chugging along. Joe, is the one that gives out the amazing wealth of knowledge he has. I've put an amazing amount of time into the bringing together this website and not to mention have footed the bills a few times. I've kept us hacker free for a damn long time. I never ask much of you guy/gals. Only if we get in crunch time and the site needs a little help. Ive never asked for the ridiculous thousands I have seen another site ask for.. ridiculous is the perfect word. I even removed ads for those that log in, severely cutting revenue. Sites been about helping people, not making money. I feel bad actually doing this.. but I need help. I have gastroparesis brought on from diabetes(20+ years). I've been struggling with this nightmare for over 3 years. Finally diagnosed beginning this year. Look it up. Look up worst cases... that's me. Ive lost 60 lbs since January. 28 days ago the company I've worked for for many years found their dirty lil way to fire me. I was approved for up to 3 days off a week for fmla.. that really pissed them off. So illegally fired, savings drained from medical bills, bad diabetic now with no insurance. I'm in deep shit. That is politely saying it unfortunately. If any of you guys cant help please at least keep me in your thoughts. If this was wrong, me asking for help, my apologies. I'm declining in health fast, and unemployment hasn't came through yet and that in itself is a nightmare. Anyone who can, please donate to the website. This time it goes to help me. Thank you everyone. Again, my apologies for asking. I honestly don't know what to do or where to turn.

UPDATE: THERE HAS ALREADY BEEN A FEW OF YOU DONATING. THANK YOU SO MUCH, I'M LITERALLY IN TEARS AS I TYPE THIS. EVERY PENNY COUNTS. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING THE HEROES RIGHT NOW.

Lurker here, but just finished my ground-up build 3 days ago after over a year of tedious work. Went to fire it up and of course nothin. Took carbs off and oxidized/gummed from sitting. Ordered a rebuild kit and a +2 up on the pilots boom...ran great, but needed small tweaks. Got out the manometer and was ready to get started on small tweaks. Went for a small ride around block and boy did it run like trash. Poppin, and start/stopping...a real bitch. Digging into it... odd trouble with TCI where it was almost grounded weird to where I'd take it out of the housing and it runs fine, but now I've seemed to slip backwards where I've sorted out the TCI, but the bike just doesn't want to fire. I'm basically at my wits end...maybe for the moment, but curious if anyone that's dual-carb-friendly is in SC? Happy to pay you for your time as I really would like to speed up the process of getting this running right. Here's a couple of photos and a video of it running 2 days ago.

Lurker,

South Carolina is a big state in square miles mate. You may want to tell other South Carolinians where you are located exactly.

They may not want to travel to Parris Island for obvious reasons! Semper Fi

Also, update your profile with your location information along with your bike information including model year.

This is a good point! Apologies as I'm on the North side of Columbia just off 77/Killian.

So...if anyone is following this...took it apart to find my aftermarket float needle seats were just tight for some reason not letting the float needle easily slide so I tossed the old ones back in as they weren't worn to begin with. I'm at about 17mm from mating line to top of float and she fired right up.

Here's where I'm at and what's frustrating, It will idle fine. It will rev fine with no backfires...a small miss here or there, but that's not a current concern. What is concerning is if I move the bike abruptly either by pressing the brake emulating a hard stop or rocking it back and forth it gets weird. Drops RPM. I feel like it's too rich or above the immusion holes killing air. I really don't know and damn if I'm not sick of taking these carbs off lol. I'm going to check the float level at the bowl properly here in a bit. I'm afraid with the rake this bike is now on it's fkn with the float level in a big way.
