Rob,
You are starting to remind me of my Pal Bill Schu here in Michigan. He currently has 14 bikes after selling his 97 XV1100.
See his collection here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=956
I always tell him that he is a motorcycle dealer rather than a Collector/Restorer.

I took in another wayward Enduro to my Yamaha Rescue Shelter. It's a 1971 CT175. Most of my Enduros are mid 70s with very few of the earlier badge bikes. So I couldn't let this one get away. Got it for $450. The seller was probably about 35 years old. Said it was his dad's bike and his dad had passed away a few years ago. The bike was kept at their cottage in northern Michigan. At one point the bike was stolen from the storage shed. The police found it laying in a roadside ditch. Most likely some young troublemakers joy riding till it ran out of gas. His father was so angry that he stashed the bike in the basement of the cottage for safe keeping. That was well over 15 years ago. The son dragged it out of the basement and brought it home to sell as is, not running, and still hot wired from the thieves. He got a little emotional as we were loading it in the truck, but said his father would be glad that it was going to someone like me that will truly appreciate it. I plan to keep it simple on this one.

Hi Bill,
Been awhile my friend.
Glad to see you added another bike to your collection.
So, what day would you like for me to stop by to help you erect the Bill's Yamaha Cycle and Service Center sign?!

Re: My stable
Thats a beautiful little bike,,, glad you get the opportunity to keep it alive and well,,, I love the older Yamaha enduros as when I was a kid with a paper route I saved up and bought my first bike, a brand new 77 DT100,,, been soft on those kinds of bike ever since

Re: My stable
This is my winter restoration project, if I can find the parts of course lol

That looks like a great project bike, and parts are easy to find. I have that exact bike waiting its turn on the operating table. Although yours is nicer. Do yourself a favor and register/join Yamaha-Enduros.com for the most helpful forum members you'll ever meet, outside of Viragohelp or coarse.
