Hi all, this is a screenshot of XV400 (1987) indicator lights panel, from one of the adds I found on eBay.
I'm just curious, what is a "speed" indicator for?
(I'm not sure, if I take a closer look, seems like it's an empty spot, but still, what is that label for?)
Thanks to all who have helped! We have until end of March to pay for the server. As of right now we are only about $160 short. So we are very close. I'm sorry I can't cover it but my personal situation is bad bad. Ride safe if it's warm enough out where you are because it has been freezing here in Michigan. Take care of yourself and yours.

It is for the Japanese market, where it is mandatory to have a warning light that comes on once you reach or exceed 80 kph (50 mph) for "safety reasons".
The journey of a thousand miles begins with a motorcycle.

funny. I bet this is why we ended up with a stupid "oil" light everywhere else, because Yamaha engineers had to fill that spot with something that is cheap to implement
