Re: OIL and ZDDP - FLAT TAPPET ENGINES
I agree with your research. I can even show you a brand new V8 camshaft that I ruined from using modern oil on a flat tappet valve train. It took less than 250 miles to round off two lobes and cup the bottom of the lifters. Unfortunately I did my research after the fact. I now run valvoline racing o...

Re: OIL and ZDDP - FLAT TAPPET ENGINES
Joe, Thanks again for sharing your vast knowledge on how little we can spend on various products and still meet the minimum requirements. Nobody does it better. But trust me on this, if you want to exceed the minimum requirements it will come at a higher price and it will have a fancy label. Where d...

Re: CLUNK IN TRIPLE TREE - TIP
Joe, I'm thinking it might be more than just the progressive fork springs that stopped your triple tree from clunking. I barely recognized you when we got together for our ride this year. You are looking fit and trim my friend. So don't give your new springs all the credit. You also reduced your GVW...

Re: FLOAT CHARGERS
Joe, I'm with Dave on this one. I have 6 Battery Tenders and they all float/maintain properly. My buddy that owns and operates Macomb Battery warned me about the Harbor Freight "floaters" as he has seen too many of them that simply don't work. But then they only cost $5 so I guess you can buy severa...

Re: Opinions about this cheap Windshield for my Virago XV750
It says it is 2.5mm thick and that is way thinner than the shield I have on my bike. I can't give you a measurement on mine right now because I am out of town but maybe someone else can give you a comparison on the thickness. I'm thinking mine is twice that.

Re: Opinions about this cheap Windshield for my Virago XV750
It seems odd that it doesn't have a cutout portion to settle over the head light. Too bad the only mounted picture was on a quad instead of a motorcycle. The basic shape is the same as mine as far as the hand protection. Be aware that if your bike ever falls over for any reason you will most likely ...

Re: Replace that PITA right-side seat screw
I just dealt with that PITA screw yesterday and had to fish it out with the magnet stick. I will make this change ASAP.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Hello from Marine City MI
I like the style of that shield better. Mine is very old school looking but it saved my butt yesterday. Got caught in the worste storm of my riding history. I simply slowed down and tucked into the shield. My son didn't fare so well with his Harley sporting ape hanger bars and riding sleeveless with...

Re: Hello from Marine City MI
I taped a line on my shield and road for a few days to be certain before I cut it down. And did you know that shaving cream helps reduce fogging? Use the foamy kind and wipe it over the entire shield and let it stand for several minutes. Then buff it off with a soft cloth. If you have any doubts do ...
