Re: New here with old virago problems.

Welcome to the site. Definitely a nice looking bike you have. Bummer on the issues you are having though. Certainly sounds like some type of short, I say this due to the fuse blowing. Is that same fuse blowing every time you have this problem? If so I have a few repair manuals in pdf format that you...

Re: Virago won't rev past 3-4000 rpm

Re: Virago won't rev past 3-4000 rpm

There are some basics you can check. I know you said there are no vacuum leaks but try this anyway. Take some starting fluid and with the bike running at an idle spray the fluid at area where vacuum leaks can appear like the gaskets where the carburetors connect tot the engine, areas where vacuum li...

Donation Campaign

OK. THE TIME HAS COME. GOAL $335 TOTAL RECEIVED SO FAR $110 STILL NEEDING $225 [/b] We hit 12.09% CPU usage yesterday. That is wayyy over our allotted 4% average and even with all the streamlining I have done to try to keep it under 4% daily. which I might say was mildly successful, we are still ha...

Re: No Acceleration

Don't run that engine until you have the on/off installed into the fuel lines going in. Once you are sure that is correct change the oil. your bad running problems should subside. Also replace or clean the plugs really well as they are likely fouled badly.

Re: No Acceleration

I had a similar problem with my 1st gen xv750. The shut offs that are supposed to stop fuel from continuing through the carburetor when the engine is off not producing vacuum. This is a major issue as it floods the crankcase with gasoline as it sits and gas mixed oil is very much a bad thing not to ...
