I'm still thinking fuel has flooded the crankcase. No other reason for liquid coming from the exhaust unless the crankcase is overfilled.

Joe knows his viragos and hopefully he can get you straightened out as he has more technical knowledge than I do.

Re: 82 xv750 cranks but doesn't start, rich gas smell.

Welcome to ViragoHelp John. A common problem on the first gen Virago is the fuel shutoff valves. They work on vacuum. The issue is they allowing gas to flow to the carbs when the bike sits flooding them and leaking into the crank case. Check your oil. Is it gassy smelling? I had this issue on mine a...

Money issues and I never did get it running just right. Did a ton of work to that one. Ended breaking it up and parting it out. Was quite the bummer...

Re: TCI/CDI Igniter Box Rebuild 1982 XV750 Virago Gen 1

no i lost that data but I just used a regular soldering iron, tweezers, and solder sucker to remove and replace everything. Don't bother trying to remove all gunk from board. I tried and tired but only got so much off it. I just removed gunk right where the parts I needed removed was. All the solder...

can you possibly take a good photo of it? I would imagine it could be fixed possibly by putting a solidifying filler in it and going back to the correct depth. Good closeup photo would give me a better idea of what todo though.

Re: Virago 535 Sub Tank

I know I saw a pattern for the stock tanks somewhere that would give you an idea of roughly where they would go. I'll look for it but probably lost it. I would take the old tank you have and try to recreate that petcock placement as close as possible. You would likely have to use the original petcoc...
