Re: 1996 XV535 Lower RPM and under load misfires

My 1994 XV535 misfires when under load when on reserve. So I never let the mileage go past 120 without refueling. Not a likely problem for you, just thought I would throw that in. Do you have a reserve switch on the right Right handlebar cluster?

Re: Engine VIN #'s

VIN is, Viehicle Identification Number. Saying VIN Numbers is a double entendre. It's saying Vehicle Identification Number Numbers. Tires me out having to say that extra word.
And yes, I have way too much time on my hands, so blame it on being quarantined by the COVID19.

Re: XV1100 Rusty fuel tank. (SOLVED)

I had a rusty tank on my Kawasaki 454 Ltd, and took it it a radiator shop and had it boiled out. It also removed the lining but I always kept the tank full after every ride and used Stabil in a full tank during the winter. Never had any rust problems doing it that way.

Putting a larger tire on the rear is a sure way of having to replace the clutch sooner than you wanted to.

Re: 2007 XV250 New member/rider

Pete,
I ride year round down to the high 30's. But yeah, our temps are in the high 50's, low 60's with a promise of 70's in the not too distant future. I learned to ride not too far from you in 1951 at Merced California when I was stationed at Castle AFB.

Re: 2007 XV250 New member/rider

Pete, Welcome Hombre, Where Y'all from? I had a 1985 Honda Rebel 250 that I carried on the back of our 5th wheel travel trailer and rode in 40 of the 48 states. It even kept up with freeway speeds. I now have an XV535 Virago that fits my leg disadvantaged body quite nicely. There'a a lot to be said ...

Re: 1994 XV535 Side Car

Our son in-law Bob and I rode up to Mt Baker on Friday (Goldwing) and it's a long curvy way to the base of the mountain and very curvy going up. (many hairpins) A dude with a New BMW got behind us and we gave the chase. We not only blew out them Cobwebs, we launched them Cobwebs into outer space. Fi...
