Re: 1994 XV750 Mounting or Lowering rear fender frame

What model is it? looks to be about a 750 or better. My model is a 535 so I am not sure, but my rear fender is 2 piece and real easy to remove the rear section of the fender along with the tail light wiring. Took mine off to do some paint repair. Looks to me that lowering it might wind up with the w...

Re: SOLENOID WIRING - WHAT GOES WHERE??? [INFO]

My XV 535 diagram shows a start relay and not a solenoid. And a solenoid by itself does not require proper polarity. So there has to be something like a diode within the circuitry.

Re: SOLENOID WIRING - WHAT GOES WHERE??? [INFO]

In a DC circuit a solenoid like a light bulb really doesn't have polarity. Itt'l work either way you hook it up.

Re: Why is a Virago hard to start when cold?

Get a Beltran Battery Tender Junior. Install the wiring to your battery that has a plug on the end. Then keep the charger plugged into the bike when not riding. I found out that my XV535 was a Snolly Goster to start unless the battery had a full charge. And I ride all winter long in temps of 40's-50...

Re: 1993 VX535 Supporting the bike for maintenance

The guy @ Cycle Therapy that replaced my tires did it with an overheard hoist raising the bike on the front tire and rigged the front titre to stay vertical and jacked up the rear of the bike with a floor jack under the drive shaft housing. Evidently not hurting anything.
Back to the drawing board!

Re: 1993 VX535 Supporting the bike for maintenance

Joe, That is not your average crankcase. For one thing, there is a place at the rear of the crankcase where a center stand can be mounted. Plus the center of that crankcase is extra heavy metal. And as far as the exhaust pipes goes, one would have to make a jig to prevent the lift from hitting them....

Re: 1994 XV535 Rear Fender Piece Wanted

Sorry Joe, I was referring to the color of the fender. Most years of XV535's would probably have the same type fender , but maybe they were painted a different color.
