Re: 1995 XV1100 Calif. Emissions Backfiring at low rev (CLOSED)
Well done! Glad you solved your carb problem, but I would've like to have known more about that forward swing on your side stand. I had the exact same bike as yours (even the color) and twice my bike rolled forward and toppled off the side stand. I ground some material off the portion where the stan...

Re: Show us your ride!! [INTRO]
1971 CT175 I took in another wayward Enduro to my Yamaha Rescue Shelter. It's a 1971 CT175. Most of my Enduros are mid 70s with very few of the earlier badge bikes. So I couldn't let this one get away. Got it for $450. The seller was probably about 35 years old. Said it was his dad's bike and his da...

Bad A$$ 750
Thought you folks would enjoy a look at this bike if you haven't already seen it.
Sooo many custom bikes have been made from Vgo's.

Re: Why is a Virago hard to start when cold?
Chelle my 95 XV1100 Vgo was the same way on cold days. It would start on one cylinder and idle for a minute or two before the second cylinder would kick in. It always started, but it always acted that way on a cold day. That's one thing I do not miss. My new Yamaha V-twin is fuel injected and instan...

Re: My stable
That looks like a great project bike, and parts are easy to find. I have that exact bike waiting its turn on the operating table. Although yours is nicer. Do yourself a favor and register/join Yamaha-Enduros.com for the most helpful forum members you'll ever meet, outside of Viragohelp or coarse.

Re: My stable
Rob, You are starting to remind me of my Pal Bill Schu here in Michigan. He currently has 14 bikes after selling his 95 XV1100. See his collection here: https://viragohelp.com/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=956 I always tell him that he is a motorcycle dealer rather than a Collector/Restorer. Hey Joe, ...

Re: Show us your ride!!
I hope Chelle doesn't mind if I post someone else's ride........ I don't know anything about it. Found the photo online, but look what this guy did with a Virago 1100. He obviously likes mid 70s Yamahas more than I do. That has to be one rip roaring monster to ride.

Ha ha.
You are absolutely right. I forgot all about that frameless setup. Those Vgo's are so weird.
That's why you're the boss of this place Joe!

Re: Hot Exhaust
Hey Chelle, treat yourself to one of these little scissor lifts. You sound like you're a do it yourself, clean it, fix it, maintain it, kind of person. If so, you would love it. They are a little unnerving the first time you put your bike up on it by yourself, but it's a breeze once you figure it ou...
