Thanks to all who have helped! We have until end of March to pay for the server. As of right now we are only about $160 short. So we are very close. I'm sorry I can't cover it but my personal situation is bad bad. Ride safe if it's warm enough out where you are because it has been freezing here in Michigan. Take care of yourself and yours.

Re: Show us a picture (or many) of your Virago
Well, we finally got a break in the rain here and I did a 200+ mile trip with my wife on Saturday along the coast, and back through the Napa Valley, with some hilly and winding roads in between (not that the coast isn't hilly!). Wife doesn't love splitting lanes, and so for the most part I was stayi...

Re: 1981 XV750 Regulator/Rectifier Testing (Southeast CT)
@Supercub, I have had an issue with the rectifier in my own Virago a while back. The battery voltage (DC voltage) that I could read on a little gizmo I mounted under my handlebars, was always oscillating wildly, and for the longest time I thought that's just how it is. Until the relatively new AGM b...

If you haven't come across this channel yet, there is a series of restoration videos:

some of that is obvious, some of it is not. You may save yourself some headaches trying to figure out something that is already figured out...

Re: Show us a picture (or many) of your Virago
My mileage was as low as ~23mpg when I was gunning 90+ mph for an hour straight. Yup, went through the tank of gas in 60 minutes. The best I ever got was 35mpg when I was holding steady 65-75mph on a freeway. I may have got a little better than that while riding local hills, but still under 40 mpg. ...

Re: Show us a picture (or many) of your Virago
I never flew in a P40, but I did fly a Stearman. That plane may have been almost 80 years old when I flew in it, but my stomach was still put to the test

Re: Show us a picture (or many) of your Virago
I don't judge, therefore I won't be judged
but I'm glad to hear you opted to listen to the V2 and the wind instead
From your nick name I conclude you also like the sound of a supercharged V12?

Re: Show us a picture (or many) of your Virago
That would be my guess, too, but it's just a guess.
When I ride I like to hear the wind and the engine. The only exception is the occasional directions (or cop alerts) from the navigation app. I tried listening to music while riding but it's not for me. I prefer the V2 rattle

I don't know. Probably not gauges. I wouldn't be looking back to check anything other than my blind spot

Maybe an annual membership fee is the only way to go? I don't know the stats of how many active users are there, but maybe a $2/year fee or something like that, would cover the hosting fees?
