Re: XV750 Tyre Selection (Devonshire, South West England)

the difference in height will affect two things:
1) the speedometer reading (its accuracy)
2) the rake of the bike, thus its handling

Re: 1988 XV1100 Your thoughts, feelings, and/or comments?

I hear ya. One day, with wife in the back seat, I pulled off a wheelie, launching at a green light. Not that I wanted to wheelie, or expected that it's a possibility. Yeah, the 1100s are fun to ride and you gotta give them some respect. When I was shopping for a cruiser, I was looking at the power/w...

I do wonder where the oil came from.

Re: This Is Why Your Motorcycle Has a Redline [INFO.]

Ah, growing up I used to drive this big'ol diesel truck with a 16000cc engine (almost 1000 cu.in) with a red line of a whooping 1550 rpm... Speaking of the RevZilla channel, and specifically their "Daily rider" series: I wonder if they would ever put a Virago through their test (maybe sans the off-r...

Re: 2002 XV250 chain issues on new to me Virago (U.S.) (Solved)

I have no experience with a chain-driven Virago, but I have other chain-driven bikes. What you're seeing is a worn-out chain, that may have been mistreated, or just wasn't maintained. New chain and sprockets will fix it once and for good. A word of caution: don't try to cheap out. I once did: got my...
