Re: CLUNK IN TRIPLE TREE - TIP [INFO]

I agree that the shocks on the virago especilly mine are mushy. I thought mine were due to age. I will need to replace the back as well. Are there suggestions from those that have replaced these already?

Re: Best Tyres (opinion)

Another thing to keep in mind when purchasing tyres especially used is that they are not older than 6-10 years which is the recommended period to change them by the vehicle and tyre manufacturers. I know this is for autos so not sure if there is s difference for motorcycles.

Re: Is this a problem?

Michelle: If you don't want to wait you can deflate the tire enough and then instead of attempting to move the tube move the tire instead. I find this a lot easier. This happens to my bicycle all the time. Of course it is likely easier to shift the tire on a bicyle vs a motorcycle. Unless the rim is...

Re: Full dresser guards

Michelle: I agree I like the look as well and yes those forks are wider. I am surprised that there are a number of smaller engine bikes that resemble full dressed road bikes. I have seen models such as the one you show pictured in a 250cc size . I can't imagine the bike could get up to a cruising sp...

Re: Seat adjustment

I 2nd that the seat does not seem quite right. I have an xv1100 and I find myself stretching backwards on my pegs and riding my a** a bit farther back and up the seat. Coincidentally I am 5' 10" and without heels as well ; )

I too thought the shape of the seat could be better.

When I do a search on the Rotella Oil you mention I come up with a Heavy Duty Diesel version. Is this the same oil that you a talking about?

Re: GAS TANK CLEANING D.I.Y. [INFO.]

ViragoJoe I had to look this up as it seemed to good to be true. I then did a search and found others have done the same technique. I usually double check things found on the internet especially after I got burned with placing my cellphone in the microwave to get better reception. It still...

Re: Accessories One Can't Live Without

Yes I know what you are saying about the open or closed eyelet. I actually have both. I think I prefer the open eyelet better. I find they both work equally well. At times I buy just the tar plugs as I seem to use this tool often and sometimes they are fatter than normal. The open eyelet allows you ...

Re: Anyone ride Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois

Hello rbig1: I haven't rode in Iowa or Illiniois but if I decide to make the Sturgis pilgrimage I will look you up. https://sturgis.com/ I ride in Atlanta and pretty much stay in the SE. We have some sweet mountain road rides in NE Georgia and into Tennessee and the Carolinas. I also want to plan a ...

Re: Accessories One Can't Live Without

Thanks for the list. I may need to have you clarify some of those schematics for me... not very electrically inclined unless it comes to home wiring. I like the idea about the Turn Signal hack. I had been looking at some of these that were being sold at bike expos. I always thought I would like more...
