Re: 1988 XV400 Changing the seat

Well... Yes.. But..., I've been thinking of changing a few things. Putting on a late model fuel tank to allow for duel fuel (distances in Australia are insane) and also changing the seat to the late model 535 seat. Just wondering if anyone has done this.... thought about it.... attempted it. I think...

1988 XV400 Changing the seat

Hey everyone. I'm wondering if I can change the standard seat upon my Virago 400 (same as the 535) so it looks more like the split seat upon the Virago 250. My fuel tank is under my seat so it would still have to allow me access. I've put some pics below to show what I mean. The red bike is mine wit...

Re: Australian Virago Riders

Huge rally happening next year in 2020. I'm a member of the Ulysses Motorcycle Club (Mandurah Chapter) and we are hosting the national rally next year. It will be huge. The Ulysses Club is for riders in Australia aged over 50, but I'm sure all would be welcome to the national rally here in Western A...

Australian Virago Riders

G'day from Western Australia. Many forums like this one are USA based, and when an add is posted (if someone has something for sale, or a ride is being organised) it's always in Michigan or Iowa or something, and us poor Aussies get left out (insert sad face here) . So I figured that if this f...

Re: 1993 XV1100 need more AMPS for led light bar

G'day mate :D Could you post a picture of your light bar? My understanding is that LED lights should be brighter with lower amps than regular lights, though I think ViragoJoe is a bit of an expert on this subject. So watch this space and I'm sure you'll get the best advice on the internet right here...

Why is a Virago hard to start when cold? [CLOSED]

Basically, my question is why is a Virago hard to start from cold on a cold wintery sort of a day? I go out and try to start her up. I use full choke. Sometimes she will just flood as I can smell the petrol and so I'll leave her be for around 20 minutes, then try again. Most often she will fire up (...

Re: 1993 XV535 UK Backfiring.

Hey Tommy (waves from Western Australia) I'm also on my first bike. It's an 88 XV400 but very like your bike. I also had a backfiring issue that would normally manifest after around 30 minutes of riding, then she would backfire and even die when I came to a stop. My issue then was her old carbs were...
