XV535 single carb suggestion

After battling with the super difficult ' your airbox is your frame' debacle, I thought about a single carb conversion to make access easier to work on. I have seen a mod whereby a 'T' joiner is used as an intake fitted into the original intake rubbers, I could probably get something made up if I ha...

1997 XV535 engine swap

I have found a few potential 535 engine candidates,
Is there any difference between years in 535 engine mounting?

I guess a car jack and some wood blocks would be good enough tools to perform a transplant?

Any potential snags?

Re: Oil leak - 1997 XV535

It's has leaked all night, cover is soaked in oil. This is the left side and the rear cylinder. I gave the engine a clean and dry and its not coming from anywhere else, I'm concerned there is a hole under that patch. https://beta-static.photobucket.com/images/rr87/Slicknut/0/d55878fe-42c7-4474-b5e9-...

Oil leak - 1997 XV535 (CLOSED)

I knew it had a leak when I bought it, but what I didn't spot was this odd 'fix' someone has done. If you look closely you can seen what looks like JB weld, painted silver and coved in fingerprints (for evidence?) next to the bolt. I gave it a clean to have a better look, and sure enough when the en...

I took a picture

I am stuck on 'that tiny island' to the left of France, but you might also know it as Great Britain.

Re: Harley FLT Tank - 535

The guy I bought it off was telling me how he got 45 mpg, and on the advert claimed to cruise at 80 mph. I do wonder if it will need a tune somewhere, especially as he paid for his servicing and never lifted so much as a spanner to adjust the bars.

Re: Harley FLT Tank - 535

A 97' 535S
Theres a tank on ebay right now so thought to ask.
I don't mind what tank as long as its an approximate shape to the original, I don't mind modding, I could paint it nicely to match.
Would like to boost range as I'm told its only going to cover 100 miles.

Hello - Intro 1997 XV535 (CLOSED)

I bought a 535S and thought to find an internet 'house' to park at for help and info.
It's a bit strange in that I haven't ridden anything since I passed the test four years ago, but with health and all, I do what I can.
Should be fun!
